Fresh, well-balanced and round on the palate offering a rich, dense and juicy mouthfeel dominated by a flinty, gunpowdery, almost smoky mineral note with underlying hints of tropical fruit.
Not your standard tropical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc! 2018 was a difficult vintage, especially in Marlborough where rain caused widespread rot at harvest time. Acid levels are generally a bit lower than average and the best 2018s will be in spite of the weather rather than because of it. But the warm summer resulted in more generous yields than 2017’s small crop.
