Munay Lucia’s Selection Malbec Rosé
Description
Pale salmon-pink in colour with aromas of wild strawberry and cherry. The palate shows elegant notes of crunchy redcurrant and ripe strawberry with a little lime zest to finish. This is an easy-going wine with delicious minerality and a really fine structure.
Extra Notes
Run by Lucia Romero, Munay is the Quechua word for love. Quechua was the language used by the Inca empire, the indigenous people that many years ago ruled Peru, Bolivia and the north of Argentina. The vineyards for Lucia’s Selection are situated at 1,700 meters above sea level at Finca Rio Seco in the Cafayate Valley in Salta. The grapes selected are from just under 25 hectares of low-density vines and are harvested by hand.

Salta is tiny compared to other Argentina wine regions, and produces little more than 1% of Argentina’s wines from its 5200 acres (2000 ha.) of vineyards. Its claim to fame however, is its often stunning Torrontés, the exotically perfumed white grape that Argentina excels in. It's also home to the highest altitude vineyards on earth.
