Lo Petit Fantet
Black cherry, thyme and wood-spice on the nose give way to soft fruit on the palate, with warming red fruit flavours. Only natural yeasts are used and no sulphur is added. This is such a fun and good value wine, with hands-off approach to winemaking which we love!
The label was designed by the Vigneron’s young son Hippolyte, who is often to be found amongst the vines. The name translates from Occitan as ‘the little wine that is the little child of the little child Hippolyte.’ This estate dates back to 1868 (it was named for the ancient olives trees which grew there – Les Ollieux), although it was extended in 2006. The present owner Pierre Bories can trace his ancestry back to those who created this vineyard, situated in Montseret. The Bories family seek to produce wines that are the purest expression of the diversity of soil profiles here, and which highlight the innate qualities of the Carignan grape variety.

Tastes & Tones
Lo Petit Fantet d’HippolyteOne of my favourite reds from Corbieres in France. Beautiful ripe raspberries and black cherry with undertones of eucalyptus. A really fun wine, certified biodynamic with no sulphur to ensure the wine is pure as can be. A true joy.
Corbières appellation extends from Carcassonne’s gates to the ponds of Leucate and Narbonne, foothills of the Pyrenees at the foot of the Montagne Noire, on a surface of 118 square kilometers, in Languedoc-Roussillon wine area, Southern France.
