Kindeli Tinto

Description

Notes of forest floor on the nose with inflections of cherry wood, black cherry and real earthy notes. The wine has a crisp texture, loaded with succulent Pinot Noir cherry fruit, sleek spice and bright zesty acidity. A mouth-watering, drawn out finish with very well-integrated tannins. Incredible drinkability

Extra Notes

Alongside his partner Josefina Venturino, Craighead founded two labels – DON Wines and Kindeli Wines – in Martinborough in 2014. Now based in Nelson’s Moutere Valley, most of the fruit used in his Kindeli range is organically on parcels of land that Alex owns and tends. Craighead has also partnered with Wellington brewery Garage Project on its beer-wine hybrids. Craighead uses only indigenous yeasts, and every bottle is unfined and unfiltered, and made without added sulphur.

Region

Nelson

Nelson is a small, little-known wine region at the northern end of New Zealand's South Island. Surrounded on three sides by mountains, it enjoys a unique mesoclimate that is perfect for aromatic grape varieties. Wines made from Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer are considered to be some of the best in New Zealand.
