Joel Gott Zinfandel
Description
This expressive Zinfandel has aromas aromas of raspberries, blackberries and dried cranberry with notes of vanilla and spice. The wine opens with dark fruit flavours and vanilla, followed by velvety tannins on the mid-palate, and a long finish with hints of spice. An absolutely delicious, easy-style Zin which perfectly showcases this unique grape, whose roots originate in Puglia, Italy.
Extra Notes
Napa scion Joel Gott was born to make wine. His grandfather was winemaker and president of Inglenook in the 1960s and 1970s while his father, Cary Gott, is the founder of Montevina and continues to consult for wineries such as D.R. Stephens. In addition to Joel’s uncanny blending ability, he has privileged access to many of the best and as yet undiscovered fruit sources in the Napa Valley. Joel Gott wines therefore represent remarkable value.

Region
California
California is the largest and most important wine region in the USA. It accounts for the southern two-thirds (850 miles) of the country's west coast. (Oregon and Washington make up the rest.) The state also spans almost ten degrees of latitude. With mountains, valleys, plains and plateaux, California's topography is as complex as its climate, offering winegrowers a bewildering choice of terroir.
