Jean Paul Deville Carte Noir
Description
The nose demonstrates mineral infused notes, accentuated by elegant red berry scents and a delicate toasty nuance. On the palate, ripe and generous with fresh red berry and citrus flavours. The finish is dry and refreshing. Makes for a great summer aperitif. Otherwise try with smoked salmon, mature Brie or a bowl of wild strawberries!
Extra Notes
This excellent Champagne is made by rising star Jean-Paul Deville at his domaine in the centre of the village of Verzy, just 20km south east of the Champagne capital, Reims. His wines are made by the traditional 'Méthode Champenoise' whereby secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle. What sets Jean-Paul's wines apart, however, is the dominance of the Pinot Noir grape in the blend. Whereas most Champagnes are made predominantly from Chardonnay grapes with a little Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this particular Champagne is made from 70% Grand Cru Pinot Noir grapes plus 30% Chardonnay. The resulting wine is a real Champagne-lover's Champagne.
