Bright ruby in colour, with generous aromas of black cherry, red berry, with touches of violet and white pepper. On the palate, we see enticing flavours of ripe plum, red and black cherry, hints of earthiness and a lick of spice. The overall structure is broad and rich with a very pleasant mouthfeel and a well-composed finish.
The founder, Nicky Hahn, grew up speaking German. In his native language, the word ‘Hahn’ means rooster, which is why a depiction of this bird has always graced the label of our Hahn wines. From the beginning, Nicky strove to produce exceptional varietal wines from Monterey County where Hahn’s vineyards and winery are located.
Inspired by the Rhône blends of Southern France, our GSM combines the character of each varietal into rich layers of flavours and textures. Bright, fruity Grenache contributes raspberry, strawberry and cherry flavours, while Syrah lends colour, tannins and hints of blueberry. A small amount of Mourvèdre brings richness to the mid-palate and lengthens the dry finish.

In the heart of California’s Central Coast, Monterey County AVA lies just inland from the deep “Blue Grand Canyon” – the largest submarine canyon along all of North America’s shoreline. Each day, chilly Pacific wind and fog sweeps into the valley, funnelled between the Santa Lucia and Gabilan mountain ranges.
