Coopers Creek Chalk Ridge Syrah

Description

A beautiful deep purple/red, with a dense, dark core and bright, flashing purple rim. Lots of black fruits on the nose with a touch of pepper, some meatiness and lovely, savoury oak notes. On the palate we see a seriously well structured wine, which medium to full bodied with silken tannins and great length.

Extra Notes

Coopers Creek was established by Andrew and Cynthia Hendry in 1980 with the aim of producing the very highest quality wines, principally in dry styles and reflecting New Zealand’s outstanding cool climate viticultural conditions. This Select Vineyards Syrah comes from a new block planted by Coopers Creek in a steep, north-facing limestone amphitheatre. The ripest fruit from the top of the hill is selected for this bottling. The small amount of Viognier also came from the same block.
