Château Sarunsot Dupré
Description
A beautifully rich and slightly spicy Bordeaux with layers of cassis, roated coffee and smoky leather. Tannin levels are great on this wine, very velvety and well-integrated. Such a great example of top Bordeaux with having to pay ridiculour prices. Drink now or keep for 10-15 years
Extra Notes
The proprietor , Yves Raymond, inherited this estate which has been in his family since 1875. He is from a long line of winemakers in his family dating back to 1750. Yves favours a blend dominated by Merlot with a high percentage of Cabernet Franc, which is not typical for the region where Cabernet Sauvignon dominates. His focus is making a supple and rounded style wine which is more approachable in its youth.
