Château Grand David de Mauvinon

Description

Beautiful appearance with purple tones. A nose full with scents of ripe fruit. A well balanced, round wine with a lot of volume and amplitude.

Extra Notes

10 Ha vineyard. Soil: Sandy-gravel and clayey-silicate gravel. Plots Average age: 38 years. Grape Varieties: 100% Merlot Château Grand David de Mauvinon is located in a small village 5km away from St Emilion on the south-east side, called St Sulpice et Faleyrens. Such as some Cru Classés located in the same place, like Ch Monbousquet, the Estate benefits from a great terroir composed of silica-clay gravel and a sandy-gravelly plateau. It has been a Family Estate for 4 generations, each of them taking care of this very high quality vineyard since the beginning of the 20th century. This 4th generation, through the meticulous work of Odile Soulard Guillot and her husband, initiated the organic farming nearly 15 years ago, when they have decided to drastically reduce the use of chemical products on their property. These “nature lovers” bet a quality wine respecting biodiversity, a successful Challenge when you look at the rich and colourful flora near their plots, aiming to improve the diet of bees and surrounding fauna.

The wine regions of Bordeaux are a large number of wine growing areas, differing widely in size and sometimes overlapping, which lie within the overarching wine region of Bordeaux, centred on the city of Bordeaux and covering the whole area of the Gironde department of Aquitaine.
