A bit of a cult wine now and one which has huge fans at Tasting House. Fresh, dry, breezy - the bright aromas of the wine are met with a dry, almost salty textured palate with notes of stone-fruit, that makes it perfect for enjoying with friends or with a spot of Thai food. Big Salt is wildly aromatic, laced with Gewurz and Muscat overtones, but framed by citrusy Riesling. Salty bergamot, lemon, nectarine and white tea– exotic fruits fill out the nose. The palate is filled with the texture of Gewurz, herbal hints from Pinot Blanc, but quickly washed back with classic Riesling acidity.

Ovum Wines is dedicated to producing Riesling & Gewurztraminer from single sites in Oregon and Washington. Through minimal processing, the wines are a clear representation of the vineyard and vintage. The microclimate is in the corridor to the Pacific, Elkton is marine influenced far more than any AVA in Oregon. Cold nights lead to warmer days that are mitigated by Pacific Ocean winds.

The Willamette Valley AVA/appellation is Oregon's largest wine region, stretching from Portland in northern Oregon to Eugene, more than 100 miles. Most of the region's wineries are located west of Interstate 5. The largest concentration of Oregon wineries is located in the Northern portion of this region.
