The history of wine

Within the New World can be tracked back to the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries, making them much ‘younger’ than their counterparts in Europe, whose roots date back several millennia. There is a general feeling within the New World of flexibility and although regional wine laws will still be in place, they tend to be more relaxed than those found in European countries (yield size, pruning, trellising, planting density and minimum ripeness to mention a few). New World countries also embrace change quicker and are constantly re-inventing themselves, finding new techniques as well as varietals to plant.

We have worked hard to choose a selection of wines that we feel best represent the key regions within that country and off course, only represent the ones that excite us the most. All wines have been tried & tested and where possible, showcase family wineries who care deeply about their land, with ‘sustainability’ at the heart of all their practices.

By choosing to buy from us, you start on an exciting journey of exploration with like-minded people who love wine. Our list constantly evolves and anything we try and love, we will shout about! Over the years we have built up many wonderful relationships with producers around the world, and rather than loose our European connections completely, we will endeavour to showcase them through our fantastic Wine Club subscription scheme.

Thank you for visiting us and we hope to welcome you soon as a new customer.
