These are our terms and conditions, also known as ‘The Small Print’. We have these in place to protect you and us, but in reality, we hope to never have to refer to them.
By agreeing to our Terms and Conditions, your agreement is between The Tasting Table Limited, (“the Company”) trading as Tasting House at our registered address of 30a Chain Street, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 2HX. Our Company is registered in England and Wales under Company Number 08382695.
Please read these carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law. By registering on our website you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.
When you place an order by clicking the 'confirm order' button, you are making an offer to buy from us within our terms. You will receive an email confirmation from us, of the order, once your payment has been received. This confirmation email will be sent by an automated server and may end up in your junk folder (we hope not!) If it does please make sure our domain is added as ‘safe’ so that you receive any other communications about your order as quickly as possible.
Payment will be accepted by debit card, credit card or charge card (American Express). All credit and charge card transactions are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. In addition, as extra fraud protection, the Company may (but is not obliged to) make extra checks on the names and addresses given in the order process against commercially available records such as Electoral Roll data. We may need to contact you again to verify details before we deliver, and will not be held responsible for any delay so caused.
At the point at which your payment is received by us a legally binding contract will exist between you and the Company, but we reserve the right to refuse or amend any order up to the point of dispatch (for wines for delivery), and you have the right of cancellation as set out below. If we have to amend your order we will always contact you before proceeding with the sale. In registering on the site or placing any order for alcohol you confirm that you are over 18. No contract shall exist between us and anyone under 18 who attempts to order or to take delivery of alcohol. If our drivers are in any doubt about this they are instructed not to leave the goods and the sale will be cancelled.
Tasting House does its absolute best to ensure that all wines offered on our website are currently available. Naturally availability of wines from small-scale producers that we stock are limited. Vintages may change from time to time, and where this is the case, we will do our utmost to ensure that vintages shown online correctly represent the product being delivered to you. All products are offered subject to availability. Please note that our Enomatic Tasting Cards and Wine Tasting Events are redeemable in our store.
5 Pricing and Discounts
Prices shown on our website are the prices you will pay. Discounts may be offered for orders received within a certain time period.
We only deliver wine to our local area. Please check that your delivery area is included in the list below prior to ordering. Wine deliveries will be made by ourselves, in person. Upon receipt of your online order, we will contact you to arrange a convenient time to deliver – we do not leave wine with a neighbour or in a secluded spot, we like to hand it over to you in person.
Our Enomatic Gift Cards will be posted using a Royal Mail Signed For service. If you purchase places at a Wine Tasting event through our website, there is no delivery charge and no tickets are issued, you will simply receive an email as confirmation which you should bring along with you on the evening.

We don’t expect there would be, however any claims for short delivery or breakage or any other defect or deficiency must be notified to us in writing immediately. Please email email@example.com
You will be deemed to have accepted the goods as delivered and in fulfilment of your order unless we hear from you within 24 hours of collection or delivery, and you will not be entitled to reject them thereafter except as set out below.
8 Cancellation and Complaints
Orders delivered may be cancelled by you within three days of receipt. In this case the goods (in perfect condition and unopened) must either be returned to us or made available for collection.
If we collect, a collection fee will be charged and will be payable.
If we are unable to accept return because the goods are not in good condition or have been opened, all rights to return and cancellation of order an invalid.
Upon receipt and acceptance by us we will refund all payments (less any collection or delivery charges) within 30 days.
We’re not sure why you would, but if you wish to return any wine, please call us on 0118 9571 531 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Any opened bottles you consider to be tainted must be retained and made available for collection – our cancellation and complaints policy above will not be valid without.
Refunds will be made to the credit/debit card used for the original purchase after deducting 5% of the invoice total to cover our costs, including charges by your credit/debit card company.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
10 Special Terms
We will notify you as to any special terms before you confirm any order. Placing an order following such notification will constitute acceptance of any special terms we have notified to you.
11 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure to meet our obligations occasioned by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Any of these Terms and Conditions which is or may be void or unenforceable shall to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability be deemed severable and shall not affect any other Term or Condition.
When you register your details on this website or make a purchase, we collect personal information to enable us to process and deliver your order. By registering your details on our website, you consent to us maintaining, recording, holding and using personal data we collect about you. This will never be shared with any other third party.
The information we hold about you may be used by Tasting House to send you offers which we feel will be of particular interest to you.
All credit card transactions processed from this site are done through World Pay. Tasting House do not retain or store your credit card details.
